Heidi's unplanned homebirth

I was having irregular and light surges from Friday night, but
established labour to birth was only 5 hours according to the midwives'
records. Kyus was born on Sunday morning at 2.53am, weighing 7lb 15.
I used the relaxation CD during labour and it worked a treat - in between surges I was well and truly relaxed - snores and all!
We thought that I would only be 5 cms when we rang the midwife, but while they were on the phone I started wanting to push! We had planned on going to Helston Birth Unit to use the birthing pool.
As it all progressed so quickly I ended up delivering here at home with the midwife arriving only 30 minutes before! I had no pain relief, no tearing, natural delivery of the placenta with ease - one fab birth and happy baby!
The midwife was so impressed and wanted more info on you and hypnobirthing, so thank you from the bottom of my heart.
